Job Description
We are seeking a Geotechnical Staff Engineer to join our team in Roswell, GA. In this role, you’ll support geotechnical investigations and engineering for transportation projects, helping ensure safe, reliable infrastructure solutions.
This is a hands-on role that combines fieldwork, data analysis, and technical reporting. You’ll collaborate with experienced engineers while developing your own technical judgment and project experience.
Core Responsibilities
- Plan and support field investigations, including drilling and soil sampling for transportation projects
- Review and interpret laboratory and field test data to inform engineering decisions
- Prepare clear, accurate geotechnical reports (e.g., foundation investigations, soil summaries, site assessments)
- Perform site visits and field work to support construction, maintenance, and project development
- Support troubleshooting of geotechnical issues during construction and provide practical solutions
- Contribute to project planning through cost estimates and ongoing technical support
You’ll thrive here if you have
- Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering or Civil Engineering Technology
- Engineer-in-Training (EIT) certification or progress toward it preferred
- 1+ year of civil engineering experience (geotechnical experience preferred)
- Working knowledge of geotechnical engineering principles, field methods, and construction practices
- Ability to read plans, analyze data, and produce clear technical reports
- Strong communication, problem-solving, and decision-making skills
- Commitment to safety, quality, and teamwork, with a valid driver’s license for fieldwork
