Job Description

Role Summary:

The Human Resources Generalist will provide a broad range of HR support for the Local division headquarter group. The HR Generalist will primarily be responsible for transactions supporting on and offboarding employees at all levels, providing support to internal stakeholders in areas such as benefits, time-off programs, compensation, employee relations as well as training and development. This role will report directly into the VP, Human Resources.

JOB DESCRIPTION

  • Act as resource for business partners on general HR-related questions and providing direction on processes. Guide and escalate resolution to the appropriate channels.
  • Execute Human Resource programs including, but not limited to, compensation, benefits, leave, disciplinary matters, disputes and investigations, performance and talent management, employee recognition, safety, training and development.
  • Develop successful relationships and business partnerships.
  • Review, track, and document compliance with mandatory and non-mandatory training.
  • Ensure compliance with company policies, procedures, HR systems, and employment laws.
  • Collaborate with the Talent Acquisition team to recruit, interview, and facilitate the hiring of qualified job applicants for open positions and posting of outreach notification and collaborate with department managers to understand skills and competencies required for openings.
  • Manage onboarding programs to ensure a positive employee experience.
  • Help drive engagement including championing engagement survey, action planning, and shares best practices.
  • Process transactions in HR systems including promotions, new hires, terminations, organizational changes, etc. through required work flow processes
  • Be an executer of transactions, key communicator to the population, and orchestrator of our HR team processes as needed to support the HR team, and back-up to the team HR Coordinator role
  • Other projects, responsibilities or duties as assigned

Qualifications

Basic Requirements:

  • 3+ years working within the HR function, or a combination of education and other relevant experience
  • Must possess excellent oral, written, presentation and listing skills
  • Excellent time management skills with a proven ability to meet deadlines.
  • Excellent follow-up skills with the ability to follow-through to completion.
  • Ability to manage multiple assignments concurrently, prioritize tasks, demonstrating a sense of urgency and results orientation.
  • Ability to act with professionalism and confidentiality.
  • Ability to anticipate business needs, think proactively and respond appropriately.
  • Ability to learn new systems quickly and create improved efficiency.
  • Must be a self-starter with the ability to balance conflicting points of view, function effectively under pressure and demonstrate discretion, integrity and fair-mindedness.
  • Proficiency with or the ability to quickly learn the organization’s HRIS and talent management systems.
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite or related software.
  • Understands the needs of timely recruitment strategies

Desired Characteristics:

  • Experience with HRIS and SAP highly desirable
  • General understanding of employment related laws and regulation
