About the role

Overview

Our company is looking to hire a General Superintendent experienced in steep slope, rope access or rockfall mitigation techniques.

 

The General Superintendent serves as a member of the Division Management Team and reports to the Division Operations Manager.  The position’s primary responsibility is to provide field leadership and training to all members of assigned Squad-Team while maximizing crew efficiency and profitability.

 

 

Who is Access Limited Construction?

 

Access Limited, a division of GeoStabilization International, specializes in steep slopes, mitigation of landsides, rockslides, and rockfall. With extensive experience installing rock anchors and bolts, we also build retaining walls on difficult areas and install all types of rock mesh and netting, cable net mesh, ring nets, hexagonal wire mesh, and Tecco mesh.

Responsibilities

  • Live by Company Core Values and ensures crewmembers fully understand them, including our safety program and culture.
  • Maintain and reinforce company culture while working with division management to develop and enforce company standard policies and procedures.
  • Prepare and update a training plan for all personnel in their business unit and communicates weekly training priorities.
  • Attend division management meetings and updates leadership of any major developments, good or bad, for each project.
  • Coordinate crew logistics and leave with operational requirements in collaboration with the scheduling team. 
  • Coordinate work and communications between Squad-Teams, departments, and Divisions as necessary.
  • Ensure each crew is installing products according to the job drawings, project worksheet, and/or Standard Operating Procedures.
  • Maintain and improve Owner, General Contractor, Engineer and Vendor relations.
  • Ensure crew performance, assist crews as needed, formally and rapidly address deficiencies and lead by example.
  • Ownership of the daily management process to ensure the Superintendent.
  • Responsible for all crew member's safety.
  • Superintendent accountability to compliance including daily logs, checklists, photo submissions, as-builts, documentation, HR, credit card receipts etc.
  • Superintendent development and Superintendent accountability for the development of their crew.
  • Focus on pre-construction planning.
  • Monitor and ensure Superintendent's project performance, including duration and cost variance.
  • Review and approve Daily logs and credit card receipts on a daily basis.
  • Help manage workforce planning and hiring for all supervised crew.
  • Coach and mentor Superintendents and keep them accountable for doing the same for their crews.
  • Ensure the right crew fit for the project and its skill needs.
  • Hold Superintendents and Operators accountable for equipment maintenance, cleanliness, and related documentation.
  • Ensure quality and testing programs are adhered to on all supervised projects.
  • Ensure good teamwork and communication between all functional groups supporting projects.

Job Qualifications

  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in construction industry preferrable geotechnical construction, to include: job management, and knowledge of products and services.
