POSITION SUMMARY: The General Operator is expected to be an all-around team player who willingly performs any and all functions assigned on any given day. The General Operator will be responsible for any and all production-related activities on the line, including but not limited to: organization and operation of prep areas and equipment, sauce and grain production, product transfer to/from freezers, hand casing, hand weighing product, and supplying the production line.

 

Schedule: 12HR AM Shift 

 

KEY AREAS OF RESPONSIBILITY:

  • Ensure packaging matches formula labeling.
  • Enter and verify accurate information on all paperwork.
  • Set coding up with accurate information.
  • Efficiently operate the casing and hand palletizing area.
  • Responsible for change-overs, accumulation, and casing-out frozen product.
  • Make sure line, kettle and fillers have been sanitized and release prior to start up.
  • Perform all required safety checks and quality checks using MES.
  • Effectively operate and monitor equipment in assigned areas.
  • Uncrate and place stacks of cups for use on the line, ensure product is placed in the cup in proper quantities and appearance, and proper placement of lid on tray.
  • Transferring of trays across line to different weigh tables, and from end of line to beginning.
  • Supply hand weighers with product from racks/tubs.
  • Inspect quality and consistency of product.
  • Responsible for chemically cleaning and participating in wash down of assigned area, including minor equipment adjustments and minor lubrication.
  • Maintain backup capability on a minimum of two pieces of equipment.
  • Other duties as assigned.

 

SKILLS/QUALIFICATIONS

  • High school diploma or GED preferred
  • Manufacturing experience preferred
  • Must have mechanical ability to make minor adjustments
  • TPM knowledge (Tags/CIL/Centerline)
  • Chemical/EPSU training preferred
  • Detect and understand warning lights, buzzers, alarms or instruments
  • Indicating hazardous conditions or circumstances which may cause equipment or product loss and physical harm
  • Must observe Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP)
  • Must follow all safety rules and procedures
  • Must be able to work at least 40 hours per week on an assigned shift with some daily overtime and weekend overtime.
