The Role
We're looking for a General Manager to lead ChuckData's growth as a business, a product, and a community. This is a broad, entrepreneurial leadership role with accountability for strategy, and results. You will lead the P&L, define the vision, orchestrate product and go-to-market understanding, and build a high-performing team.
This is a coach/player role: you'll balance hands-on execution with strategic leadership. Expect to roll up your sleeves on product, growth campaigns, and community engagement, while also guiding the long-term business trajectory. You'll chart the path from technology preview to scaled business.
You will report directly to the Chief Product Officer (CPO) of Amperity and will collaborate with peers across Amperity's product portfolio.

- Own ChuckData's business strategy, vision, and P&L accountability.
- Define long-term goals, success metrics, and investment priorities aligned with Amperity's broader strategy.
- Drive business model innovation around PLG motions, community-led growth, open-source engagement, and monetization.
- Manage budget, ensuring allocation of resources toward growth and impact.
- Product & Community Leadership
- Guide product strategy in close partnership with engineering and product management.
- Ensure ChuckData meets the needs of data engineers across AWS, Azure, and GCP, integrating with Amperity CDC and the broader ecosystem.
- Cultivate and amplify ChuckData's community presence — building trust, advocacy, and developer-first adoption.
- Translate community insights and market feedback into differentiated product value.
- Go-to-Market & Growth
- Define and own ChuckData's go-to-market strategy across PLG, community, and partnerships.
- Drive adoption and engagement through creative, scalable growth loops: content, events, integrations, and ecosystem partnerships.
- Build relationships with key partners (Databricks, Snowflake, system integrators, cloud platforms) to expand distribution and credibility.
- Establish and track growth KPIs: user acquisition, retention, engagement quality, share of answer, and revenue impact.
- Thought Leadership & Industry Influence
- Develop relationships with industry analysts, influencers, and experts.
- Position ChuckData as a category shaper through analyst briefings, research contributions, and participation in industry evaluations.
- Be a visible thought leader in the data engineering ecosystems via conferences, publications, podcasts, and community forums.
