General Labor II – Janitorial

Department: CA Distribution

Location: Whittier, CA

This member of the Distribution Center team reports to the Maintenance Manager. This individual is responsible for maintaining their designated areas and must have the ability to work in a fast-paced environment.

Major Responsibilities include but are not limited to:           

• Janitorial cleaning of specified areas
• Disposal of trash/debris
• Clean and service the different departments throughout the Warehouse
• Identify and report possible repairs
• Sweep and mop floors
• Clean common areas
• Other duties as assigned

Essential Skills:
 

• Good interpersonal, teambuilding and follow-up skills
• Ability to multitask and work well with others
• Must be accurate and detail-oriented
• Ability to handle difficult situations and work well under pressure

Requirements:

• Minimum of one year experience including warehouse/distribution janitorial cleaning
• Good verbal communication skills to all levels of Management
• Ability to identify and solve problems, collect data, establish facts and draw valid conclusions

• Able to lift up to 50 pounds – Proper lifting techniques required
• Able to perform manual work, i.e., bending, reaching, standing, walking, sitting, and stooping for extended periods of time (up to 4 hours) without taking a break
• Frequent reaching above or below shoulder height
• Frequent grasping, pushing, pulling, fine manipulation and repetitive hand movements
• Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, color vision, and ability to adjust focus
