This role is part of the New Shepard program. New Shepard is a reusable suborbital rocket system designed to take astronauts and research payloads past the Kármán line – the internationally recognized boundary of space. Through operational reusability, New Shepard supports our mission of lowering the cost of access to space.

As part of a small, passionate and accomplished team of Aero-Space aerospace technicians, you will be responsible for assisting with Launch Operations, Ground system and Vehicle processing, Launch and Recovery support, facility operation support, maintenance and test article integration support within the New Shepard Operations and Maintenance (NSOM) organization. You will share in the team’s impact on all aspects of the New Shepard program in support of both Human and Payload flight schedules. This position will directly impact the history of space exploration and will require your dedicated commitment and detailed attention toward safe and repeatable spaceflight.

Responsibilities include but are not limited to:

• Support NSOM Integration and Test operations:
  • Assisting in the day-to-day operations of vehicle processing
  • Deliver calibrated tooling to the proper location and track its progress
  • Audit tools, consumables and other required materials.
  • Work with PC and Inventory Control on kitting as needed
  • Deliver/retrieve components to/from CPV lab for processing
  • Report facility issues by creating help tickets
  • Perform safety walks and FOD sweeps
  • Perform 5S and general clean up
  • Perform vehicle preparations and refueling/cleaning
  • Support GSE servicing
  • General support of technicians and engineering team as required.
• Safely working around hazardous chemicals and high-pressure systems
• Understands the definition of FOD/Tool control and importance of its controls

Minimum Qualifications:

• Experience in high paced team working environment
• Understanding of basic tools required to perform maintenance. 
  • Torque wrenches
  • Basic mechanics hand tools
  • Pressure gauges
  • Power tools (Air and electrical)
  • Meters
• Ability to lift 40 lbs. work in adverse weather conditions and climb stairs and ladders
• Knowledge of Word, Excel, Power point.  Computer capable
• Self-starter and able to work with minimal supervision
• Ability to work a 5-day M-F work week and overtime as required
• Valid U.S. driver’s license
• Must be a U.S. citizen or national, U.S. permanent resident (current Green Card holder), or lawfully admitted into the U.S. as a refugee or granted asylum.
