General FSQA Manager- Albertville, AL- 1st shift

Job Details:

Summary: This position is responsible for the daily management of all activities of the FSQA department to include implementation and execution of food safety programs, specification adherence, and product quality for products within their assigned facility. This includes monitoring, verification, and record keeping associated with adherence to government regulations and internal food safety systems. In addition, the FSQA Manager will oversee departmental budgets, turnover, safety, and all special projects as assigned.  

Responsibilities include but are not limited to:   

• Ensuring all Tyson FSQA policies and procedures are followed  

• Leadership of FSQA Supervisors and FSQA Technicians including selection and training.   

• Verification of production practices from raw material/live animal receiving through finished product quality and Food Safety Systems.  

• Supporting sanitation through monitoring of preoperational and operational sanitation 

• Developing, implementing, and maintaining the HACCP/HARPC & SSOP programs  

• Ensuring finished product conforms to customer product specifications and is properly labeled  

• Reporting product issues and audit results to plant and corporate FSQA plant management, corporate sales, R&D, and operations  

• Interacting with customers and their agents for product showings, plant tours, and audits  

• Conducting investigations and responding to quality related customer complaints or complaint trends  

• Monitoring microbiological results, including bacterial swabs and shelf-life studies  

• Participating in new product commercialization 

• This position is responsible for food safety, food quality and legality.  

REQUIREMENTS:  

Education: Knowledge associated with food safety animal science, natural science or technical field normally acquired through a bachelor s degree or higher in academic study or related job experience essential to the job.  

Experience: 5 plus years of prior industry experience to fully grasp regulatory, production and manufacturing concepts preferred.
