As Information Desk General Clerk, you will greet guests, provide requested information, offer directions and perform various other supportive duties such as answering incoming calls and pager requests. In many cases, you are the first person patients see when entering the hospital, offering you the chance to start their experience off on a positive trajectory. Not only can you help ensure they have a wonderful visit but also leave a lasting impression of Cleveland Clinic. Additionally, this position allows you to further your customer service skills, meet new people and explore numerous professional development opportunities.
A caregiver in this position works Monday and Tuesday from 9:30AM – 5:30PM and every other weekend from 1:00PM – 6:00PM.
A caregiver who excels in this role will:
Acknowledge and greet guests with a smile and provide appropriate information.
Maintain cleanliness of main lobby area, policing for debris and disarray of furniture.
Utilize computer systems to obtain information regarding physicians, departments, meeting locations and patient information.
Verify test schedule through Centralized Scheduling, as needed.
Dispatch transportation for patient discharges and admissions, meeting goal of 15 minutes or less point to point.
Provide directional information to guests and/or provide escort services as needed.
Answer phones with a pleasant, professional demeanor and provide appropriate information.
Assist in the scanning of patient wrist bands for patient discharges.
Train and work closely with volunteer staff and perform duties of information desk personnel.
Minimum qualifications for the ideal future caregiver include:
High School Diploma/GED
