Gunderson Dettmer is seeking a highly organized and proactive attorney to join our Private Fund Group as a Fund Group Practice Manager. This role will be instrumental in driving innovation, efficiency, and consistency across our Fund Group practice. As a collaborative, high-impact team member, the candidate will work closely with our Fund Group Partners, Associates, Knowledge Management (KM) group, and People and Marketing teams to enhance the quality, performance, and scalability of our fund services. The ideal candidate will lead innovative enhancements across all areas of our Fund Group practice, support training and development programs for attorneys and business professionals, manage key projects and initiatives, and assist with internal meetings and events, business development efforts, and hiring and staffing needs. Generally, the Fund Group Practice Manager will not work directly for firm clients and therefore will not bill time.
Qualifications:
Licensed attorney with a minimum of five years of private fund or asset management experience at a large law firm.
General understanding of fund formation practice with an interest in, or experience with, practice support and innovation.
Robust leadership and management skills.
Highly organized and detail oriented.
Excellent verbal, written, and interpersonal communication skills, with a strong ability to build relationships with colleagues, service providers, and industry peers.
Entrepreneurial and self-motivated.
Ability to multitask and effectively prioritize competing demands.
Flexible to work outside of regular business hours, as needed.
Key Responsibilities:
Lead the adoption of innovative practice tools and knowledge management systems.
Proactively identify areas of need, where training, AI tools, or other resources can have the greatest impact on the quality and efficiency of our workflows.
Manage key projects and initiatives.
Support training and development programs for attorneys and business professionals.
Assist with hiring and staffing needs, coach and mentor attorneys and business professionals.
Enhance the practice’s forms, resources, and other materials.
Coordinate internal meetings and events.
Assist with business development and client onboarding efforts.
Status:
Full-time, Exempt
The expected starting salary for this position is $225,000 - $300,000 annually, dependent upon qualifications and experience.
