Position SummaryAs a Fullstack Data Engineer, you will have an instrumental role in our technical team, bridging the gap between data architecture and software development. You'll design, develop, and maintain our data sources, pipelines, and services, while also applying your software and data engineering skills to enhance our Data pipelines, Django applications, create custom integrations, and address end-user needs. This role demands a balance of strong technical skills and a creative approach to problem-solving, especially within the dynamic context of a startup environment.

Responsibilities

  • Design, develop, release, and maintain data sources, pipelines, and services to drive company-wide initiatives.
  • Collaborate with a team of engineers to support our corporate data warehouse, using technologies like Snowflake, Redshift, Fivetran, and DBT.
  • Work in tandem with data scientists and domain experts to foster continuous testing processes.
  • Source data from disparate sources using APIs, File transfers, SQL and other data extraction methods
  • Build complex SQL scripts and procedures to perform data analysis
  • Transform data from Flat files, JSONs, CSV and other formats to structured data in data warehouse tables
  • Model database tables that can be used as basis for reporting various business metrics in dashboarding tools like Tableau
  • Develop integrations between enterprise applications using APIs and micro services
  • Proactively identify and rectify data integrity issues and manage and create new data integrations.
  • Contribute to a culture of learning and teaching through code and analysis reviews, advancing understanding of data engineering techniques and principles.
  • Actively engage with end users to understand and anticipate their ongoing and future needs.
  • Utilize software engineering skills to fix bugs, enhance existing Django applications, and create custom integrations.

Requirements

  • A BA/MS/PhD or equivalent experience in CS, Statistics, Economics, or a related field.
  • Minimum of 5 years of hands-on experience developing data warehouses and pipelines, with technologies like Snowflake, Fivetran, and DBT.
  • At least 5 years of professional software development experience that includes extensive SQL scripting skills
  • At least 3 years experience with Python based development including frameworks like Django and Flask
  • At least 3 years experience working with REST APIs
  • 3+ years experience with Agile development and code deployment process using Github or other similar repositories
  • 2+ years of experience in a cloud environment, such as AWS, GCP, or Azure, with proficiency in Docker, Linux, Make, Bash, and AWS services such as Lambda, RDS, Batch.
  • Exceptional written and verbal communication skills.
  • A strong belief in transparency, open communication, and the power of individual contributions to a team.
