The Opportunity
Reporting into Engineering, we are currently seeking a talented Full-Stack Software Engineer with a strong foundation in front-end development and 4+ years of professional experience building thoughtful, well-designed products or internal tools. While you'll bring a front-end perspective to the team, you should also be comfortable working across the stack, including backend services and infrastructure, as we shape the future of ML tooling with a focus on usability, performance, and developer experience.

In this role, you will:

• Leverage your experience in backend and frontend related technologies to create high-quality, scalable, and maintainable code and APIs.

• Employ your understanding of developer tools to influence the development of user-centric features that address the needs and pain points of data scientists and engineers.

• Contribute to architectural decisions and participate in code and design reviews across various teams, ensuring the highest standards of quality and performance.

• Demonstrate excellent verbal and written communication skills and bias towards making an impact and picking up work that needs to get done.

• Work as part of a team and feel most excited when given large and ambiguous problems to solve independently.

• You have experience with React, building modern, interactive web applications, with attention to usability and accessibility.

• You are proficient in TypeScript or JavaScript and comfortable building client side logic at scale.

• You have experience building modern web applications, with attention to performance and scalability.

• You are familiar with front-end build tools such as Webpack or Vite.

• You bring a front-end perspective to product development and enjoy crafting intuitive, responsive user interfaces.

• You have experience with AWS (required) and are familiar with other cloud platforms (preferred).

• You have experience with NodeJS (and optionally protobufjs) for server-side development and API integration.

• You have a strong foundation in data structures and algorithms, with a focus on profiling and performance optimization.

• You will be expected to be in-office.

About You:

• 4+ years of professional experience building software as a generalist with a strong focus on frontend development alongside backend and infrastructure work

• Prior experience with React and its core principles including component architecture, state management, and hooks.

• Experience with TypeScript or Javascript with attention to code quality, readability, and maintainability.

• Experience with Python, Go, Java or another backend technologies and comfortable working across the full stack.

• Knowledge of ML concepts and frameworks (eg. TensorFlow, Pytorch, Spark) is highly desired.

• Experience with AWS and/or NodeJS

• Familiarity with frontend build tools like Webpack and Vite, and understand how to optimize for performance bundle size and developer experience.

• Strong foundation in data structures, and algorithms with a focus on performance tuning and optimization in both frontend and backend systems.

• A clear communicator who thrives in ambiguous environments, often stepping up to drive clarity, alignment and solutions when faced with open-ended challenges.

• Bachelor’s degree in computer science or related field.
