About the role
The Service Unit Specialist Position supports Membership operations by coordinating special projects, mailings, and returned communications, while assisting with training and quality control of temporary staff to meet deadlines and standards. It provides cross-functional support to Contract Management and Membership Support Services, including conference work and annual mailings. The role requires proficiency in Service Unit Representative tasks such as assembling and verifying outgoing membership materials, processing renewals, customer requests, and complex billing. It also involves managing ID card printing and ensuring accuracy, as well as screening incoming information for proper routing.
This position is located on the Topeka campus

Compensation
$18.34- $21.80
Non-Exempt 10

What you’ll do

- High School graduate or equivalent required.
- Two or more year's experience working proficiently as Service Unit Representative or Mail room experience required.
- Attention to detail and accuracy. This position is directly responsible for mailing out a large amount of personal information and errors can result in PHI violations including potential fines or notification to local news of disclosure events.
- Must have the ability to understand membership policies and operations
- Must have strong leadership and positive human relation skills.
- Ability to prioritize tasks and to delegate them when appropriate.
- Ability to work and clearly communicate within a team environment including the ability to prioritize multiple workload to ensure all mailing and internal deadlines are met.
What you need
Knowledge/Skills/Abilities
- High School graduate or equivalent required.
- Two or more year’s experience working proficiently as Service Unit Representative or mail room experience required.

- Must have the ability to understand membership policies and operations.

- Must have a proven record of low unscheduled absences.
- Ability to prioritize tasks and to delegate them when appropriate.
- Ability to function well in a high-paced and at times stressful environment.
- Ability to work and clearly communicate within a team environment including the ability to prioritize multiple workload to ensure all mailing and internal deadlines are met.
Education and Experience:
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Like experience working in a mail-room environment preferred.
- Two Years Experience working as a Service Unit Representative or similar position required.
Physical Requirements
Prolonged periods of sitting at a desk.
Must be able to lift up to 25 pounds at times
