Front Office Surgery Medical Assistant

Busy practice of Eric M Kagel, MD seeks an experienced Full-time Medical Assistant/ Front Office person in a solo physician environment (A division of the BASS Medical  Group). This position is ideal for an individual who enjoys working in a fast-paced  environment with a team and shared responsibilities, where multi-tasking skills are key. You will have a high degree of responsibility and independence.  

This position will  consist of front and back office with revolving duties that may include: Receiving  patients/ rooming patients 

• Responding to patient calls 

• Prior authorizations/ Surgical Scheduling 

• Data entry into Electronic Health Record (EPIC)/ scanning and faxing 

• Maintaining a COVID safe environment 

• Taking vital signs and height/weight measurements/wound care 

• Preparing/cleaning treatment rooms for patient examinations & procedures 

• Assisting MD during procedures 

Requirements

 Strongly preferred qualifications: 

• Medical Assistant Certificate/ License 

• Bilingual – Spanish 

Required qualifications: 

• Excellent customer service/interpersonal skills 

• Team Player 

• Medical terminology 

• Excellent verbal and written communication skills 

• Comfort with interacting with the elderly and disabled 

• Comfort with bodily fluids 

• Strong computer skills 

• Ability to multi-task in a fast-paced environment Electronic Health Records experience 

**Will need to have experience in or learn EPIC

Pay: $19.00 - $26.00 per hour (or based on experience) 

COVID-19 considerations: We use Santa Clara County guidelines to manage this office against COVID-19.  Patients have their temperature checked the outside of our office door. Facemasks are  required. Exam rooms have air filtration systems.
