About the role

SNC is seeking an experienced and visionary Software Front-End Lead to architect, develop, and implement cutting-edge user interfaces for mission system software on a state-of-the-art airborne platform.

In this pivotal role, you will:

Collaborate Across Disciplines: Partner closely with system, electrical, mechanical, and optical engineers to deliver a specialized software mission product that integrates seamlessly with hardware components.
Innovate and Lead UI/UX Development: Drive the development of an interactive front-end that provides operators with real-time imagery analysis tools, ensuring an intuitive and user-friendly experience.
Advanced Feature Implementation: Lead the creation of advanced radiometric image processing algorithms and incorporate them into the front-end interface for cutting-edge image analysis.
Team Leadership: Lead a talented team of front-end software engineers, ensuring effective task prioritization, on-schedule execution, and high morale while fostering a collaborative and innovative environment.
Risk Management: Proactively identify potential risks related to user interface development and integration, and develop robust mitigation plans to ensure project success.
Prototype Development: Work on innovative prototype solutions in the lab, focusing on front-end functionalities and pushing the boundaries of what's possible.
User Experience Optimization: Continuously gather and incorporate stakeholder feedback to refine and enhance the front-end interface, ensuring it meets the needs of end-users effectively.
Performance Tracking: Oversee and track key performance requirements related to the front-end throughout the program lifecycle, ensuring that all objectives are met.

Responsibilities:

  • Lead Front-End Development effort - coordinate with other front-end developers, set objectives, prioritize tasks and delegate tasks

  • UI/UX Design and development: Drive creation of user-friendly and intuitive front end interfaces. Implement real-time imagery analysis tools and other situational awareness displays

  • Collaborate with cross-function teams: Work closely with other stakeholders to ensure cohesive product development

  • Ensure compliance with systems engineering processes

  • Perform risk management and issue resolution

  • Facilitate software design and architecture decisions

Must-haves:

  • Bachelor's of Science degree in System Engineering or related discipline and typically 10 or more years of relevant experience

  • Higher education may substitute for relevant experience

  • Demonstrated knowledge of engineering principles and practices

  • Experience working in multi-disciplinary design and development teams
