What You'll Do:

 

At Serta Simmons Bedding, you will work in an environment centered around Ruby on Rails, JavaScript, RSpec, and Postgres

deployed on Heroku, with increasing integration of AWS.

 

Our approach includes Buildkite and Cypress for continuous integration, and we emphasize continuous deployment.

 

Collaboration spans quality engineering, platform engineering, and product engineering.

 

We continually assess enhancements to our architecture and technology stack, prioritizing the use of robust APIs and tools.

 

You'll collaborate closely with stakeholders across the organization, influencing how millions of customers connect, explore, and engage with our products daily.

How You'll Do It:

 

• Champion innovative software solutions from inception to production, ensuring success across all phases of deployment.
• Design, develop, test, deploy, maintain, and enhance software applications.
• Mentor and guide junior engineers, fostering their professional growth.
• Manage project priorities, deadlines, and deliverables independently.
• Lead initiatives and facilitate meetings within your team and domain, overseeing multi-person, multi-week projects.
• Collaborate with peers to elevate skill sets and enhance code quality within your domain team.
• Partner closely with other teams to tackle cross-functional challenges and deliver exceptional user experiences.
• Coordinate with principal engineers to align projects with ongoing infrastructure initiatives.
• Engage in the entire software development lifecycle, from planning through deployment and maintenance.
• Ensure code functionality through rigorous unit testing and debugging during development and QA phases.
• Implement agile methodologies to iteratively release and deploy service updates.
• Cultivate soft skills and prioritize a user-centric, collaborative approach to software development.

What You'll Bring:

 

Requirements:

• Minimum 3 years of experience in a tech environment similar to the described stack.
• Proficiency in Ruby on Rails, JavaScript, and database programming or similar architectural tools and languages.
• Demonstrated experience in developing enterprise-level applications and integrating with APIs.
• Strong commitment to Test Driven Development (TDD) principles, including proficiency with RSpec, Cucumber, and Cypress.

 

Nice to Have:

• Familiarity with Stimulus, React, Next.js, AWS S3, Lambdas, GraphQL, SQL, or comparable tools and architectures.
• Experience with eCommerce applications, supply chain logistics, customer experience enhancements, ETL processes, or third-party integrations.
