Forklift Driver

Morgan Steel, LLC is seeking a dependable and safety-focused Forklift Driver/Operator to join our warehouse team in Memphis, TN. This role is critical to our daily operations, ensuring the safe handling, movement, and storage of steel materials. The ideal candidate will have a strong work ethic, attention to detail, and a commitment to maintaining a clean and efficient warehouse environment.

Key Responsibilities:

• Complete the forklift daily inspection checklist to ensure safe operation.
• Safely unload materials from trailers and return them to stock locations after color coating.
• Accurately receive materials and promptly submit all bills of lading.
• Maintain a clean and organized work area, including the front area outside of the sheet room; ensure all materials are secured inside the building at the end of each shift.
• Assist with banding and packaging materials prior to loading them onto trucks.
• Adhere to all safety protocols, including proper use of PPE, seatbelts, and safe lifting techniques.
• Report any forklift malfunctions or safety concerns to the maintenance department immediately.
• Load materials onto trailers in the correct sequence according to the lineup stops.
• Dispose of all scrap metal properly in designated scrap containers.
• Assist with will-call customer orders in your designated area.
• Support warehouse operations as needed or assigned by supervisors.
• Accurately read and interpret measuring tools including tape measures, calipers, micrometers, and blueprints.
• Maintain clear communication with co-workers and supervisors to ensure smooth workflow and task coordination.
• Any other assigned duties.

• Prior experience as a forklift operator in a warehouse or manufacturing environment preferred.
• Valid forklift certification is a plus (or willingness to obtain upon hire).
• Ability to accurately read measuring devices and blueprints.
• Strong commitment to safety procedures and company policies.
• Good communication skills and ability to work well in a team environment.
• Physical ability to lift and move materials as required.
• Willingness to assist in various warehouse tasks as assigned.
