Summary
The primary function of this position is to ensure that the Foodmate equipment is functioning at optimal performance while adhering to all safety and quality assurance policies and procedures.
Principal and Essential Duties & Responsibilities
- Set up and maintain Foodmate machines – adequate supply of trays, totes and bulk bins to the departments.
- Operate the machines and make adjustments to tension as needed to ensure Perdue Packing, Grading and Yield standards are met.
- Transfer totes of work product weighing up to 60 lbs.
- Assist lead person in daily department run. Fill in as needed on line.
- Perform minor adjustments to Foodmate machines for optimal performance including blades, sensors and photo eyes.
- Be able to grasp aspect of the machine change over and carry out with little or no direction
- Overtime is required (sometimes without prior notice). Weekend work is required to assist Maintenance with Foodmate machine repairs.
Minimum Education
At least 6 months worth of poultry experience and the ability to become a certified Foodmate operator within 60 days from being placed in position. LOTO trained and certified.
Experience Requirements
Worked a minimum of 6 months of consecutive work history with one employer within the past 3 years.
Experience Preferred
Experience in poultry processing/manufacturing environment preferred.
Environmental Factors and Physical Requirements
- Ability to work in temperatures ranging from 35 – 50 degrees Fahrenheit with both ambient and 100% humidity.
- Ability to stand for up to 8 hours per shift.
- Lift up to 60 lbs to a height of 4’.
- Noise exposure up to 87 db.
- Exposure to chlorine up to 20ppm.
- Must wear all personal protective equipment as required.
