Food Services Representative

Food Service Representatives perform a variety of food production, hospitality and environmental service duties that help to ensure the hospital's food service requirements are met on a timely basis and according to standards of safety, quality and performance. This is not an exhaustive statement of duties, responsibilities, or requirements. Employees will be required to perform any job, with related instruction given by their supervisor, subject to reasonable accommodation.

• Prepares serving lines with hot and cold foods, condiments, serving utensils and containers, dishes, silver and other appropriate items. (20%)
• Reviews menus and production orders for patient diets and/or cafeteria foods to have a better understanding of serving line assignments. (10%)
• Performs serving duties of hot and cold stations. Serves foods adhering to standardized portions and/or diet prescription. (15%)
• Obtains necessary supplies from storeroom and refrigerators using requisitions. (15%)
• Clean daily serving line stations and work area including equipment, work tables, utensils and floor in work area when necessary. (20%)
• Responsible for safety and sanitary handling of food, dishes, equipment and supplies. (15%)
• Checks daily staffing schedule for changes in work assignments. (5%)

• Knowledge of basic commercial food handling methods and operation of food service equipment.Knowledge of commercial kitchen safety, sanitation and hygiene practices.Ability to work independently and effectively with other food service personnel.
