HybridAs a Software Engineer - Flight Deck Central Communications you will perform full life-cycle software development including designing system and software solutions; supporting implementation, integration, and testing; and finally participating in deployment, monitoring, and field troubleshooting. Our system is a critical part of a global aviation network infrastructure where communication protocols and high availability are integral elements of the overall design.
What You Will Do
- You will work closely with members of other teams such as system engineering, system performance, network engineering, system acceptance
- on software requirements development, software design, and system testing
- You will develop system software for air-ground and ground-ground communication, command and control, data logging, test tools, hardware/OS customization with industry compliant security and hardening features.
- You will develop engineering project plans, resource and manpower estimation, and lead engineering teams throughout the entire project lifecycle.
Must Have Qualifications:
- Typically requires a degree in Science, Technology, Engineering or Mathematics (STEM) unless prohibited by local laws/regulations and minimum 5 years prior relevant experience or an Advanced Degree in a related field and minimum 3 years of experience or in absence of a degree, 9 years of relevant experience.
- Must have five or more years of communication or system software development experience.
- Must have experience leading and using disciplined development processes in a team environment.
- Must have experience estimating software development projects of team sizes of 3 or more engineers.
- Must be authorized to work in the U.S. without sponsorship now or in the future. RTX will not offer sponsorship for this position
Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience with: C/Python, Object Oriented Design, Linux, Network Protocols, Data Communication, High Availability and Security.
