Fleet Technician (2nd Shift)

Our Fleet Operations department is hiring a Fleet Service Technician at multiple levels to repair and service our more than 2,000 fleet vehicles. In this role, you will provide onsite fleet services for light, medium, and heavy-duty trucks, trailers, and other equipment with experienced technicians to advance your career. Our fleet is made up of vehicles from Ford, Chevy, Peterbilt, Caterpillar, and Kenworth. The work that you perform will ensure our fleet is in top condition, allowing you to stay on top of advanced technologies and providing exposure to positive challenges every day.

***Please note that the work schedule for this position is Monday- Friday, 2:30 pm – 11:00 pm, and is eligible for shift differential pay. ($2.20 per hour)

 Please note that this role will be filled at one of two levels depending upon the knowledge, skills, expertise, and qualifications of the successful candidate:

A day in the life of a Fleet Technician I ($27.71 to $31.86) may include:

  • Performing preventative maintenance on our fleet of vehicles, including:
    • Checking and changing fluids and oils
    • Maintaining and replacing tires, belts, hoses, wiper blades, and performing minor welding services
  • Partnering with Master and Level II technicians on minor services and repairs

A day in the life of a Fleet Technician II ($32.07 to $36.89) may include: 

  • Repairing, cleaning, replacing, installing, and modifying defective, missing, or malfunctioning components of mechanical, hydraulic, fuel, electrical, braking, steering, pumping, and other related vehicle systems
  • Modifying, repairing, and reassembling major automotive components and assemblies, including gasoline and/or diesel engines, automatic and standard transmissions, differentials, and front-end assemblies
  • Repairing and maintaining sanders, plows, and related snow removal equipment and systems
  • Performing customer service or garage functions, including topping off fluids, adjusting tire pressures, replacing wiper blades, and other minor services
  • Performing automotive inspections, diagnostics, troubleshooting, maintenance, and repairs on a variety of vehicles and light/heavy equipment

Who You Are

  • Relevant experience in a fleet or automotive mechanic environment
  • Knowledge of and experience with preventative maintenance methodologies and tools
  • Automotive Service Excellence (ASE) Certification
    • Technician I's are expected to obtain a Light or Heavy ASE certification within two (2) years of hire
    • Technician II's are required to possess - 3 Heavy Duty ASE Certificates OR 4 Light Duty ASE Certificates. Master Tech in either is VALUED. Or equivalent OEM certifications
  • Possession of a valid, unrestricted driver’s license is required; possession of a Class A Commercial Driver’s License (CDL) must be obtained within six (6) months of hire
