Job Overview
Performs advanced and broad-level repair, maintenance, and customer service for large repair and maintenance operations or operations supporting Hillsborough County Fleet Management Department. Incumbents in this classification perform the duties of the operation or operations, as well as lead worker duties of lower-level staff.
Compensation Pay Range for Position
Minimum: $24.45 - Maximum: $40.35
Starting Pay Salary Range - Salary based on years of experience and certifications.
Minimum: $29.00 - Maximum: $31.79

Ideal Candidate
The ideal candidate will possess considerable fleet maintenance technical knowledge and skills along with strong communication skills. The candidate performs operational, administrative, and technical functions in the coordination of repairs, maintenance, and customer service for a large fleet operation supporting the Hillsborough County Fleet Management Department. The ideal candidate will possess a minimum graduation from High School or possession of a GED certificate, and successful completion of an accredited vocational school or technical training program. The candidate will possess Eight years of experience in the repair and maintenance of automobiles, trucks, or equipment or an equivalent combination of education, training, and experience that would reasonably be expected to provide the job-specific competencies noted below. The candidate will possess a current Master Automobile Service Excellence (ASE) Certification in: 1) Auto/Light Truck, or 2) Medium/Heavy Truck, or 3) Medium/Heavy Vehicle and ASE H8 (Preventive Maintenance Transit Bus) or T8 (Preventative Maintenance Medium/Heavy Truck) AND 4) Possession of EPA-approved Section 609 Certification. Welding and Fabrication experience is preferred. The ideal candidate will possess a valid Florida Driver's License, with no more than seven points within the past 24 months. The candidate must possess a Class “B” Commercial Driver’s License with Air Brake endorsement within the probationary period (six months).
