The Black and Veatch Fleet Manager is responsible for overseeing the management and compliance of Black and Veatch's fleet operations. They ensure compliance with DOT, FMCSA, and IFTA regulations, manage driver compliance programs, oversee vehicle maintenance requirements, and optimize fleet software programs to capture and analyze fleet asset cost and performance. They also manage fleet asset management, total cost of ownership, and asset standardization. The BV Fleet Manager serves as a liaison between BV Fleet Operations, procurement, and projects to ensure efficient fleet operations support. Additionally, they manage the rental program and oversee the planning, forecasting, and coordination of rental equipment.
Key Responsibilities
• Ensure compliance with regulatory, safety, and operational standards related to fleet management across all job sites. • Manage driver compliance programs, including driver logging and maintenance inspection programs. • Optimize fleet software programs to capture and analyze fleet asset cost and performance. • Manage fleet asset licensing, IFTA, and registration programs. • Oversee asset accident management program for owned and rented assets. • Manage communication of BV Fleet Operations policies and procedures. • Work as a liaison between BV Fleet Operations, procurement, and projects to ensure efficient fleet operations support. • Manage rental and purchase agreements, vendor performance and compliance, and asset standardization. • Supervise, train, and evaluate staff in fleet management, compliance, and asset management. • Oversee equipment planning, forecasting, rental coordination, and transportation logistics of BV owned and rented equipment. • Ensure proper maintenance planning, scheduling, and coordination with maintenance staff and third-party vendors. • Manage fuel card program and ensure accurate fuel usage reporting. • Carry out planned maintenance schedules to minimize downtime and optimize productivity. • Prepare for external audits or inspections by regulatory agencies and follow up on findings to ensure timely resolution. • Serve as point of contact for compliance-related inquiries from fleet staff and site management. • Manage the rental program, including planning, forecasting, and coordination of rental equipment. • Ensure accurate rental tracking and repair of rental equipment. • Work with rental companies to supply forecasting of BV rental needs. • Review monthly rental reports to ensure proper utilization targets are met. • Track total cost of ownership for all assets and optimize asset management practices. • Related duties as assigned.
Preferred Qualifications
• Bachelor’s degree in business, Logistics, or related field and or,
• 5+ years of experience in fleet management within construction, compliance, or related field
• Experience with DOT, FMCSA, and IFTA regulations
• Proficient in fleet management software programs
• Strong communication and leadership skills
• Ability to travel to project locations for audits and inspections.
