Fleet Director

Job Description

We are seeking a visionary and detail-oriented Fleet Director to join our team in Denver, United States. As the Fleet Director, you will be responsible for overseeing and optimizing our entire fleet operations, ensuring efficiency, cost-effectiveness, and compliance with industry standards. Salary Range: $90,000 - $100,000 per year, plus an annually bonus of $50,000 (bonus paid monthly), and a company car.

• Develop and implement strategic plans to improve fleet performance, reduce costs, and enhance operational efficiency
• Lead and mentor a team of fleet operations professionals, fostering a collaborative and goal-oriented work environment
• Oversee vehicle acquisition, maintenance, and disposal processes to maximize fleet utilization and minimize downtime
• Analyze fleet data and key performance indicators to identify trends and make data-driven decisions
• Collaborate with various departments to ensure seamless integration of fleet operations with overall business objectives
• Negotiate and manage vendor contracts to secure cost-effective services and maintain strong supplier relationships
• Ensure compliance with all relevant DOT regulations and safety standards
• Develop and implement preventive maintenance programs to extend vehicle life and reduce repair costs
• Create and manage budgets for fleet operations, including vehicle purchases, maintenance, and fuel costs
• Stay current with industry trends and emerging technologies to continuously improve fleet management practices
• Implement sustainability initiatives to reduce the environmental impact of fleet operations
• Provide regular reports and presentations to senior management on fleet performance and strategic initiatives

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Logistics, or a related field; MBA preferred
• 7+ years of progressive experience in fleet management, with at least 5 years in a leadership role
• Proven track record of successfully managing large-scale fleet operations and driving operational improvements
• In-depth knowledge of DOT regulations and compliance requirements
• Strong analytical skills with the ability to interpret complex data and make strategic decisions
• Excellent leadership and team management abilities, with a focus on developing and motivating staff
• Proficiency in fleet management software and Microsoft Office suite
• Experience with vendor management and contract negotiations
• Strong understanding of vehicle maintenance, repair processes, and industry best practices
• Knowledge of sustainability practices in fleet management
• Familiarity with telematics and fleet tracking technologies
• Experience with implementing cost-saving initiatives
• Excellent communication and presentation skills, with the ability to interact effectively with all levels of management
• Demonstrated ability to multitask and work efficiently in a fast-paced environment
• Valid driver's license and clean driving record
