We are seeking an exceptional software professional to work as a Team Lead within our firmware team. In the role, you will lead a team and participate in the design of complex robotic products. You will be responsible for the product through its entire life-cycle, from participating in hardware selection to establishing a firmware architecture. You will lead the product team through the implementation and development phases and follow through with testing, manufacturing, and ultimately deployment and maintenance. You will lead a growing and effective team and work closely with several other teams and groups at large to deliver excellence in the form of a safe and functional product experience. To be successful, you need to be highly motivated, understand how to solve problems, and dive deep while delivering to the highest standards.
Key job responsibilities
• Develop the long-term strategy for your team and translate that into a road map/action plan
• Carefully balance functional and safety needs to deliver on both
• Drive the overall technical vision and architecture which enables us to grow and scale quickly
• Understand how all elements of the system work together and develop engineering and testing approaches that fit the overall strategy
• Manage and execute against project plans and delivery commitments
• Manage engineering resources and drive the day-to-day activities of the engineering team
• Manage the resources of your team including, hiring, mentoring, and enhancing and maintaining a best-of-class engineering team
Report on status of development, quality, operations, and system performance to management

Basic Qualifications
- 5+ years of non-internship professional software development experience
- 5+ years of programming with at least one software programming language experience
- 5+ years of leading design or architecture (design patterns, reliability and scaling) of new and existing systems experience
- Experience as a mentor, tech lead or leading an engineering team
Preferred Qualifications
- 5+ years of full software development life cycle, including coding standards, code reviews, source control management, build processes, testing, and operations experience
- Bachelor's degree in computer science or equivalent
