Job Description

AZZ has an exciting opportunity for an SEC Reporting Lead at our Fort Worth Texas corporate office. Reporting to the Director of Corporate Finance you are responsible for overseeing the organization's external financial reporting functions, ensuring timely and accurate preparation and submission of financial documents to regulatory bodies, auditors, and relevant stakeholders. This position focuses on SEC reporting, consolidated financial statements, cash flow preparation, and compliance with financial disclosure requirements while supporting the earnings release process. As SEC SME, you play a crucial role in maintaining transparency, credibility and compliance in the organization’s external reporting activities.

Duties and Responsibilities

• Manage the external financial reporting functions of the company, including compliance with SEC reporting requirements, consolidated financial statements, and cash flow preparation.
• Oversee the preparation, review, and submission of periodic SEC reports, such as 10-Q and 10-K filings, ensuring accurate and timely disclosures.
• Develop and maintain reporting processes and tools to support the efficient creation and distribution of external financial reports.
• Manage the relationship with auditors, regulators, and other stakeholders to ensure compliance with applicable accounting standards and regulatory requirements.
• Collaborate closely with cross-functional teams and stakeholders to gather necessary data and information for external reporting purposes, ensuring data quality, consistency, and accuracy.
• Support the earnings release process, preparing and analyzing financial data and disclosures to support executive-level communications.
• Continuously monitor and evaluate changes in reporting requirements, implementing enhancements and updates to financial statements and disclosures as needed.
• Train and support team members and stakeholders in external reporting methodologies, fostering a culture of adherence to best practices and compliance within the organization.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of experience in reporting, data management, analytics, or related field.
• 2+ years of public accounting experience preferred.
• Understanding of financial regulations and compliance requirements, including a deep understanding of GAAP standards and their implementation in external reporting activities
• Up to 15% travel required, may include international.

Minimum Education

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance or related field required.
• Master’s degree in Accounting, Finance or related field preferred.
• CPA (Certified Public Accountant) certification is required.
