Financial Planning & Analysis Summer Intern

Emerson is seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Financial Planning & Analysis Intern (Summer 2025) to join our Finance team at our North America headquarters, McKinney Texas. 

As an FP&A Intern, you will gain valuable hands-on experience supporting the financial planning, forecasting, and reporting processes for a global manufacturing organization. This internship offers a unique opportunity to work closely with business leaders and finance professionals to drive data-driven decision-making.

In this Role, Your Responsibilities Will Be:

• Assist in the development and maintenance of financial models used for forecasting, budgeting, and long-term planning
• Analyze monthly financial performance, identify trends and variances, and provide actionable insights
• Prepare management reporting packages and dashboards for internal partners.
• Support the month-end close process through data gathering, reconciliation, and analysis
• Partner with cross-functional teams to gather business inputs and validate financial assumptions
• Contribute to operational improvement initiatives and automation efforts within the FP&A function
• Conduct ad hoc financial analysis and support special projects as needed

• Currently pursuing a Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics, or a related field
• Commitment to full-time (40 hour) Summer Internship experience in McKinney, TX from June 2025 - August 2025.
• Strong analytical skills and attention to detail
• Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and PowerPoint; experience with financial systems (e.g., SAP, Hyperion, Power BI) is a plus
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills
• Ability to work both independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced environment
• Interest in manufacturing and global business operations
• Legally authorized to work in the United States without sponsorship now or in the future
