Job Description

Primary Function:

The Financial Analyst Product Ops plays a key role in driving financial viability decisions across the Multiport product portfolio.  They will analyze financial impacts of individual projects and innovations, as well as drive comprehensive portfolio evaluations and budgeting decisions.  They will work as a critical and valued partner with engineering and product management leaders by executing best-in-class financial and data analysis to guide portfolio strategy.

Roles and Responsibilities:

  • Build financial forecasts for early-stage hardware and software projects to guide investment decisions.
  • Collaborate cross-functionally with partners from engineering, product management, PMO, and manufacturing to build consensus on project plans and resources.
  • Proactively identify and execute opportunities to automate and professionalize core responsibilities to scale the business and improve efficiency and autonomy.
  • Design and deliver analytics resources in Tableau and SQL to enable democratization of information across product management and engineering groups.
  • Perform exploratory analysis of market opportunity, customer segmentation, and product utilization to generate meaningful insights for the business and drive strategic decisions.
  • Conduct comprehensive portfolio evaluations across multiple specialties and disciplines to evaluate the innovation pipeline’s viability, risk, and opportunity.
  • Manage financial reporting, budgeting, and forecasting of product management and engineering teams.

Qualifications

Required Knowledge, Skills, and Experience:

  • Minimum bachelor’s degree.
  • Minimum 2+ years of relevant finance experience involving modeling, reporting, data analytics, and/or product strategy. (Required)
  • Strong leadership, interpersonal, and communication skills, with the ability to resolve conflict, drive consensus, and reach conclusions.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Intellectual curiosity and ability to navigate ambiguous circumstances.
  • Profound analytical and critical thinking skills.
  • Familiarity with navigating and wrangling large datasets with varying levels of schematization and maturity in Tableau (or similar tool) and SQL.
  • Thrives in a fast-paced environment and changing requirements.
  • Must be willing/able to work onsite 3 days/week at our Sunnyvale, CA office.
