Required Qualifications (as evidenced by an attached resume):
Bachelor’s degree (foreign equivalent or higher). Experience working in an office setting or customer service-related field. Knowledge or experience with the financial aid process as a recipient or a practitioner. Proficiency with Microsoft Office, Word, and Excel.

Preferred Qualifications:
Experience working in a student services-related department for a university or college. Experience advising students and/or families on financial aid processes. Experience working in a financial aid office. Knowledge of Title IV funding, state aid, and packaging.

Brief Description of Duties:
The Office of Financial Aid and Scholarship Services is looking for an energetic individual with the will to learn. The primary function of this position is to provide direct customer service in the Office of Financial Aid and Scholarship Services to students and their families regarding financial aid applications, eligibility, awards, processes, guidelines, and standards. In addition, the incumbent will assist the senior staff in the administration of special programs.

The successful incumbent will have excellent interpersonal skills, exercising strong organizational skills with exceptional attention to detail. They will multi-task and provide outstanding customer service in a fast-paced environment. Essential for this role is the adeptness in working independently as well as part of a team with a collaborative approach to problem-solving.

Duties:

  • Advise students and families about financial aid application, awards, and general financial aid processes. This entails both in-person, telephone, and e-mail advisement.

  • Assist the Leadership Team in the administration of special programs as needed.

  • Represent the Office of Financial Aid and Scholarship Services at recruitment and general information sessions on and off-campus (some take place in the evening and on weekends).

  • Other duties or projects as assigned as appropriate to rank and department mission.


Special Notes:
This is a full-time appointment. FLSA Non-Exempt position, eligible for the overtime provisions of the FLSA.

In addition to the employee's base salary, this position is eligible for $4000 UUP annual location pay, paid biweekly.
