About the role

The goal of the Display and Video (DNV)  Publisher and Plaforms team is to provide key insights that help Microsoft make solid financial and business decisions. Our team is responsible for incubating and growing new advertising revenue streams. We closely collaborate with Finance leaders, Engineering groups, Business Development, and Sales and Marketing teams. 

 

We are currently looking for a  Finance Manager to join our team. In this role you help us transform the way we measure business performance, manage resources, and lead financial activities using business intelligence, modeling, and analytics. As a Finance Manager, you will have a unique opportunity to use your insights and strategic thinking to partner with leaders on financial analysis, financial decisions and investments, and process transformation projects. 

 

This Finance Manager uses modeling and analytical skills combined with   executive presence to partner with our rapidly growing Gaming Advertising business. This role will have a direct impact on ad integration initiatives with visibility of  Microsoft leadership. The ideal candidate will be able to dive into the details and understand the key drivers as well as effectively deliver results/drivers to business partners including leadership teams. They will also exhibit curiosity, be an active learner and have a passion to understand the business models and drivers in our Consumer business and products.This candidate will be able to provide structure to a growing business and ask second order questions to analyze the “why” behind key business trends and drivers. 

Responsibilities

Prioritize 

  • Contributes to analysis of present and future financial performance of various products, segments, or other businesses. Assists team members to conduct analysis and research studies of financial plans, acquisition activity, and future opportunities/deals. 
  • Leads financial planning and analysis activities, including budgeting, forecasting, and variance analysis. 
  • Provides support to peers and counterparts during financial close periods. Prepares recurring financial reporting, forecasts, and presentations, and updates as necessary through the reporting cycles. Determines financial results (e.g., revenue, profitability) compared to expected budget and projections. Identifies variances to provide insights to management and inform future projections. 
  • Supports ad-hoc financial analysis and special projects as needed. 

 Partnership 

  • Serves as Finance contact for partners for all revenue, expense, and compliance questions related to reporting and analysis. Contributes insights for financial plans, variance analysis, resource optimization, investments, Key Performance Indicators (KPIs), and driving margin accountability. Manages and executes processes through engagement with internal and external stakeholders. 
  • Learns and applies the foundational aspects of Microsoft Finance (e.g., financial systems, policies and procedures, key metrics, historical performance, reporting and forecast requirements) and business (e.g., monetization strategy, market, key drivers of profitability) to collect information, perform technical analysis and modeling, and complete standardized reporting.
