A Day in the Life
The Finance Director for Material Purchasing and Production Volume FP&A is responsible for aligning team strategies with GOSC Finance objectives, promoting operational effectiveness, and driving organizational performance. This role oversees financial planning and analysis for material purchases and production volumes, partnering with finance and non-finance teams in Supply Management, Supply Chain, and Manufacturing to optimize cash flow and P&L performance across Medtronic.You will have a Hybrid work schedule, being on-site in a Medtronic facility 2-3 days/week. Ideal locations are:
Minneapolis - Twin Cities area
Boulder, CO
Juncos, PR
Tijuana, MX
Galway, Ireland
Other locations will be considered for candidates in locations where they can work on-site from a Medtronic facility.
This position will require working throughout global time zones and have the flexibility to travel globally up to 20% annually.
As the Finance Director - Material Purchasing & Production Volume FP&A your Key Responsibilities will be to:
Lead the financial forecasting processes for materials and manufacturing absorption accounts, ensuring assumptions are clearly defined, accurately applied and are aligned with business objectives.
Collaborate with Supply Chain, Supply Management, and Manufacturing teams to support cash flow analysis and trade-offs decisions to balance outcomes across the P&L and Balance Sheet.
Ensure the accuracy and integrity of financial reporting and analysis.
Drive continuous improvement in financial processes, systems, and controls.
Identify and implement efficiencies through the standardization of processes and automation.
Lead and mentor a team of finance professionals, fostering a culture of high performance and continuous development.
Promote a collaborative and inclusive work environment, encouraging innovation, collaboration and excellence in a global team.
Provide purpose and context for the team to create linkages between the work the team does and Medtronic objectives and performance.
Act as a trusted advisor to senior leadership, providing financial insights to drive business decisions across the organization.
Analyze trends and convey to cross functional partners how volumes, inflation, savings, and FX impact gross margin performance.
Partner with operational leaders to align on key volume forecast assumptions and ensuring alignment where applicable and articulating deviations where necessary across IBP, Supply Chain and Finance processes.
Must Have: Minimum Requirements

Bachelor's degree required.
Minimum of 10 years of relevant FP&A experience in Manufacturing Costing with 7+ years of Managerial experience, or advanced degree with a minimum of 8 years of relevant FP&A experience in Manufacturing Costing with 7+ years of Managerial experience.
