Job Description

As a member of the Claims Finance team this role has financial, budgetary and analytical responsibility for the Verisk Claims Business. This individual will lead a business undergoing rapid growth initiatives in new products in the coming years.

High level objectives are to ensure that business initiatives deliver shareholder value, to build awareness of strategy across the business, facilitate resource planning and co-ordinate initiatives across the business.

 

KEY DELIVERABLES

Planning, Forecasting and Reporting

  • Manage the budgeting, forecasting and reporting cycles in a compliant manner, using business insights to provide valuable commentaries and ideas to all levels of the organization. (scenario planning, agile to change)
  • Advanced excel model experience, building complicated operating models by product with multiple sensitivities and scenarios
  • Ability to take large unstructured datasets and streamline through data visualization dashboards
  • Partner with product leaders across multiple offices to create cohesive and detailed commentary on the BU quarterly performance
  • Assist sales and product leaders with GTM strategy, to grow performance by product and by customer
  • Proven track record analyzing customer whitespace and increasing product density
  • Reporting monthly P & L to the Claims management team by product/ group/ initiative

 

Financial Management

  • Insightful reporting, commentary, drive correct business decision making and direction
  • Work with team members across the world as a part of a global matrix-style organization
  • Drive efficiencies to streamline manual processes
  • Build approval structures and workflows to effectively manage business spend

 

Capital management and investment

  • Carry out investment/project appraisals and monitor capital spend and associated benefits
  • Deep due diligence, project management and modeling abilities on business acquisitions

Strategic Initiative delivery

  • Ensure strategic decisions are delivered in partnership with the wider business
  • Building business cases from idea to a financial plan, understanding not only the how but the why
  • Experience with large-scale transformation projects partnering with multiple stakeholders and driving workstreams
  • Effective Communication with the leadership team and the wider business to facilitate timely decision-making and ensure a real-time understanding of progress against goals

Integration with Verisk

  • Facilitate the integration of the business into the wider Verisk Group. Seeking synergies and benefits across the group
  • Report performance to the group in a manner that complements group reporting and recognizes how our business fits into the larger organization
  • Promote a culture that is in line with the core Verisk values
  • Staff development/management
  • Develop and promote a culture of financial awareness and rigor. Foster a culture where finance and compliance are at the center of all decision making

Qualifications

  • Qualified Finance professional who has prior experience operating as a Finance Lead
  • Excellent leader of people with proven experience in driving high-performance teams
  • Experience working within a matrix environment is essential
  • Ability to analyze financial data and draw sound conclusions and proposals
  • Track record of business partnering and working closely with product leads
  • A team player with strong technical skills, an inquisitive and challenging approach, exceptional analytical ability, and a willingness to take ownership
  • Challenging but diplomatic style with the credibility to work at the highest levels across the organization
  • Highly effective written and verbal communication skills at all levels, credibility with senior management- resilience, adaptability, and the ability to learn new systems swiftly
  • Knowledge of dashboard platforms like Tableau and Power BI
  • Experience with ERP/Planning systems such as Oracle/Hyperion.  Ability to ensure best practice for the use of Finance systems and compliance with group requirements
