Finance - Director, Accounting

Summary:

Responsible for overseeing the general ledger financial accounting function for the company’s North American operations.


Duties:

• Responsible for operation and oversight of general ledger financial accounting functions across multiple ERP systems, ensuring timely and accurate monthly account reconciliations.
• Timely monthly financial close and partnership with Director of Accounting and Financial Reporting Manager, and the FP&A leaders to deliver timely, complete, and accurate trial balances in accordance with GAAP.
• Monitor and develop a process of analytics to explain monthly fluctuations in trial balances, comparative to budget, (re)forecast, prior year, and trends.
• Lead research and interpretation of GAAP and other authoritative guidance. Monitor changes in GAAP, develop new accounting policies and recommend actions as needed to ensure compliance with new pronouncements.
• Lead interaction with outside auditor(s) as to changes in GAAP, and coordination of update(s) as to the North American timelines for enhancement, and compliance with U.S. GAAP.
• Oversee and maintain proper system of internal controls over the financial reporting process.
• Identify and recommend improvements, as necessary, in coordination with the Director Financial Shared Services.
• Plan, organize and partner with finance leadership to coordinate the year-end close process and annual audit, with objective of no control deficiencies or accounting adjustments.
• Develop high potential talent and lead organizational change through periodic reviews, coaching and feedback.
• Partner with IT led ERP updates/projects to ensure proper testing prior to production moves for GL/Inventory/Fixed Assets/NetLease.
• Oversee periodic inventory revaluation process in each North American ERP system.
• Other duties as assigned.


Education and Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s degree in accounting or finance.
• 7+ years of related experience (2+ years manufacturing/distribution experience)
• Strong knowledge of GAAP, specifically consolidations and foreign currency translation.
• Experience with ERP systems and financial consolidation modules, such as, Microsoft Dynamics, NetSuite, S2K, etc.
• Advanced skills with Microsoft Excel.
• CPA, CMA, or other appropriate certification preferred.
• Previous work experience in accounting/finance in a multi-unit domestic and foreign company preferred.

hands and arms. The employee may be required to sit for prolonged periods.
