SUMMARY OF POSITION
The Accounting Co-Op position is a paid full-time summer position and a part-time position during the fall and spring school semesters. The position provides the student with exposure to a wide variety of finance and accounting duties, and experience in Ascent Aerospace’s corporate finance and accounting department.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
• Prepare weekly Percentage of Completion (POC) analysis
• Perform daily project timekeeping audits
• Assist with monthly tracking and reporting of capital expenditures
• Perform weekly general ledger cost audits
• Assist with month-end closings and preparation of management reports
• Assist with annual financial statement audit
• Prepare journal entries, intercompany billings, and account reconciliations
• Assist with cash reports and bank reconciliations
• Collect financial data, and analyze variances and performance metrics
• Ensure compliance with GAAP, Company policies and reporting requirements
• Any additional duties assigned by management
REQUIRED SKILLS, EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE
Any combination of education and experience providing the required skill and knowledge for successful job performance will be considered. Typical qualifications would be:
• Pursuing a Degree in Accounting or Finance
• Grasp of accrual accounting concepts, cost accounting, and financial statement preparation
• This position must meet Export Control compliance requirements, therefore a “US Person” as defined by 22.C.F.R. § is required

• Proficient with computers, M/S Excel, and other Microsoft Office applications
• Organized with an attention to detail

• Ability to work with management team to help drive performance

• While performing the duties of this job, employee may be exposed to moving mechanical parts, fumes and airborne particles.
• The employee may be exposed to vibration.
• The employee is occasionally exposed to caustic chemicals. The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate.
• May be required to work weekends to meet department and business demands.
• Work with safe manufacturing processes and understanding that eyewear is mandatory in the manufacturing area.
• Knows that safety shoes are recommended in the manufacturing area.
