Description
The Kearney Companies is a Site & Utilities Contractor based in Riverview, FL. Our projects include site development, underground utilities, roadway construction, and public infrastructure work throughout the Tampa Bay area. Due to continued growth, we are seeking an Final Stabilization & SWPPP Coordinator to support our team in the Brandon/Riverview area.
Key Responsibilities
- Review civil plans and specifications to determine sod types, coverage areas, and required quantities
- Coordinate and place sod orders in accordance with project requirements, jurisdictional standards, and FDOT specifications where applicable
- Schedule sod deliveries based on grading completion, site readiness, and project timelines
- Communicate daily with field teams to confirm readiness for sod placement
- Coordinate with vendors to ensure material availability, delivery accuracy, and quality
- Track all sod orders, deliveries, and installation progress across multiple active projects
- Verify delivered quantities and inspect condition of sod upon arrival at job sites
- Adjust orders and schedules based on weather conditions, site delays, or field changes
- Track and reconcile purchase orders, delivery tickets, and invoices for accuracy
- Assist with invoice processing and proper cost coding
- Maintain organized documentation for all sod-related activities
- Coordinate re-orders or replacements due to failed inspections, damage, or insufficient coverage
- Support final stabilization efforts to ensure projects meet closeout and compliance requirements
- Assist with coordination of additional materials (topsoil, seed, erosion control materials) as needed
- Work with project teams to resolve material shortages, delays, or discrepancies
- Assist with SWPPP compliance and stabilization requirements to support inspections and closeout
- Coordinate erosion control and stabilization materials including sod, seed, topsoil, and related items
- Help drive final stabilization so projects are ready for inspection and closeout
Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent required
- 2–5 years of experience in civil construction, site work, or material coordination preferred
- Strong understanding of site development processes including grading and stabilization
- Familiarity with sod installation timing and field conditions impacting placement
- Ability to read and interpret civil construction plans and specifications
- Strong organizational and time management skills
- Ability to manage multiple projects and deadlines simultaneously
- Excellent communication skills with both field teams and vendors
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Excel, Outlook, etc.)
- Detail-oriented with strong problem-solving abilities
- Familiarity with SWPPP requirements, erosion control, and final stabilization preferred
- Ability to adapt to changing site conditions and priorities
