Telstra’s Internship program will provide students with the opportunity to test their interest in a particular career and allow them to gain practical experience by applying the methods and theories learned in school. The internship program provides an opportunity to network with business professionals in the desired industry and or function. Interns will increase productivity and provide a fresh perspective to the business.Develop the skills and knowledge to test and install copper, coaxial, Cat 5/6, and fiber connections
Expand into testing and accepting various types of circuits
Gain experience with the safe use of telecom tools, and test equipment
Inventory analysis of site equipment/spares. Learn how to use CCMS to update and get information on circuit installs, and equipment installs.
Participate in team meetings and contribute to discussions
Job Description
- Provide students with the opportunity to test their interest in Field Services/ Telecommunication and allow them to gain practical experience by applying the methods and theories learned in school. The internship program provides an opportunity to network with business professionals in the desired industry and or function. Interns will increase productivity and provide a fresh perspective to the business.
- Network Operations Engineer
- Develop the skills and knowledge to test and install copper, coaxial, Cat 5/6, and fiber connections.
- Expand into testing and accepting various types of circuits
- Gain experience with the safe use of telecom tools, and test equipment.
- Inventory analysis of site equipment/spares. Learn how to use CCMS to update and get information on circuit installs, and equipment installs.
- Participate in team meetings and contribute to discussions.
Intern Requirements:
- Must be a current college student or recent college graduate with a major related to electrical engineering, data/network engineering, design or implementation, basic mechanical skills
- Proficiency in MS Office applications- Word, Outlook, Excel, PowerPoint, etc and the most common desktop application with digital and print presentation skills as a bonus
- Ability to visualize how a circuit gets from one point to another. Detail Oriented
Salary Range:
$ 25/HR + 100 $/ Month mass transit commuter subsidy
