The Opportunity

Join one of the fastest-growing areas at Hitachi Energy! As a Technical Support Specialist for Transformer Service, you will be a key player in our US Transformer HUB, reporting to the Field Operation Manager – Data Center. Your expertise and hands-on experience will not only help you build strong customer relationships but also uncover new business opportunities. This role offers a dynamic environment where you can make a significant impact through rapid response, performance improvement, and operational efficiency.

How You'll Make an Impact

• Deliver outstanding and professional service, both remotely and on-site.

• Install and commission transformer hardware, sensors, and accessories.

• Ensure physical communication connectivity, configuration, testing, and validation.

• Integrate and configure transformer software, including license initialization and firmware upgrades.

• Act as the onsite point of contact for customers and subcontractors during project execution.

• Strategically assign tasks to crew members to optimize cost and project duration.

• Test SEL relays using Omicron relay test sets or equivalent tools.

• Perform electrical testing of transformers and reactors, including bushing power factor, core megger, CT ratio, and more.

Your Background

• Associate Degree with 3 years of professional experience or High School Diploma/GED with 5 years of professional experience.

• Valid driver’s license and ability to travel up to 85%.

• Physical fitness for duty.

• Proficiency in Microsoft Office tools.

• Background in data center fieldwork is a plus.
