Field Safety Coordinator

This position will consist of but not be limited to accessing, correcting, and documenting potential hazards on plant sites.

Position Responsibilities:

• Assists in monitoring safety and health compliance related to construction and maintenance of the project
• Assists and conducts safety orientations for new employees
• Conducts project safety audits and recommends correction for unsafe acts and/or tasks
• Explains safety policies and procedures
• Assists in conducting accident investigations and root cause analysis
• Trained to administer first aid to employees with minor injuries
• Assist in case management of employees injured on the job

Essential Skills, Knowledge and Abilities:

• 3+ years of industrial field safety experience
• Ability to work at height, climb ladders, stairways and work from platforms
• Have reliable transportation
• Maintain Valid Driver’s License
• Must be knowledgeable in basic paperwork skills
• Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint)

Valued but not required Skills, Knowledge and Abilities:

• Former Zachry employee
• Training in vocational schools or related on-the-job experience

Physical Demands and Work Environment:

• Employee will be required to adhere to large amounts of standing, walking bending, squatting and lifting
• Will need to be able to talk and hear to communicate to give full attention to what other people are saying, taking time to understand directions
• Will use arms and hands to signal, grab, hold, turn, push and pull objects, materials, controls, and tools
• Will occasionally work at heights, climb ladders and stairways and work off of platforms
• Will use vision abilities to focus, see short and long distances, colors, depth perception, and peripheral vision
• Will be required to wear personal protective equipment (PPE) including but not limited to a hard hat, safety glasses/goggles, ear plugs/muffs, masks/respirators, safety vests, gloves, and steel-toe boots
• Will work in all weather conditions ranging from warm/hot to cool/cold
• Will work in occasional rain
• Moderate to high noise levels
• Jobsite will contain light to heavy equipment vehicles, small to large equipment, materials, communication equipment and tools.
