About the role

Job Summary
Investigate all events that arise out of the operation of the railroad and other subsidiary entities on an assigned territory.

Primary Activities and Responsibilities

Respond to and independently investigate all events, regardless of severity, that occur as a result of railroad operations that may involve bodily injuries, death or property damage
Assess financial exposure and control outcome of events
Develop event resolution plans and supervise routine litigation
Enhance the CSXT reputation by promoting our safety culture internally and externally
Assist employees injured on the job
Align with other departments to achieve organizational objectives
Miscellaneous activities and responsibilities as assigned by manager
Coach and/or assist in training less experienced Risk Management professionals

Minimum Qualifications

Bachelor's Degree/4-year Degree
2 or more years of experience

Equivalent Minimum Qualifications

High School Diploma
4 or more years of professional experience

Preferred Qualifications

Bachelor's Degree/4-year Degree
4 or more years of experience

Knowledge and Skills

Effectively communicate and collaborate with CSXT employees, customers, community members and others
Advanced familiarity with technology
Strong analytical and decision making skills
Ability to work independently with limited guidance from manager
Act with a sense of urgency
