The Field Engineering Manager is responsible for managing the field service engineering and support and ensuring that the field service standards and objectives are met. The Field Engineering Manager reports to the VP of Service and supervises the Field Service Engineers and the Technical Publication Manager. The Field Engineering Manager oversees the field service engineering activities, resources, and policies and ensures that the complex or urgent technical issues and inquiries are resolved effectively and efficiently. The Field Engineering Manager also evaluates and improves the field service engineering processes and procedures and implements best practices and initiatives. The Field Engineering Manager also provides feedback and data to the engineering and manufacturing teams to improve product quality and performance.
· Manage the field service engineering and support and ensure that the field service standards and objectives are met
· Oversee the field service engineering activities, resources, and policies
· Ensure that the complex or urgent technical issues and inquiries are resolved effectively and efficiently
· Supervise, coach, and develop the Field Service Engineers and the Technical Publication Manager and their teams
· Evaluate and improve the field service engineering processes and procedures and implement best practices and initiatives
· Monitor and report on the field service engineering metrics and performance and take corrective actions as needed
· Collaborate and communicate with other departments and stakeholders
· Provide feedback and data to the engineering and manufacturing teams to improve product quality and performance
· Stay updated on the field service engineering trends, best practices, and customer needs
Requirements
· Bachelor's degree in engineering, business, or related field
· At least 5 years of experience in field service engineering management, preferably in the heavy duty truck industry
· Proven track record of managing and leading a field service engineering team
· Strong knowledge of field service engineering operations, processes, and standards
· Excellent communication, presentation, and interpersonal skills
· Technical thinking, problem-solving, and decision-making skills
· Customer-oriented, results-driven, and collaborative mindset
· Ability to travel frequently and work under pressure
This position will adhere to the Battle Motors Environmental Health and Safety Program by following all safety rules, procedures, practices, training, and safe use of equipment; this includes use of personal protective equipment (PPE) as required.
