The Field Engineer - PV and Energy Storage Position Sunnova Energy Corporation is currently searching for a PV and Energy Storage Electrical Engineer for the Operations Department. The Domestic United States is a growing market for solar energy with energy storage due to the instability of the pricing structure and, in some cases, the frequency of grid outages. Our company is playing a key role in the energetic transformation of these markets through solar and energy storage systems. The PV and Energy Storage Field Engineer’s primary responsibility is to support partners and internal teams in the training, design, installation, commissioning and troubleshooting of PV systems, PV systems with energy storage, and energy management platforms. The employee must continuously seek ways to improve the performance, functionality, and cost of these systems while meeting our customer’s needs. Field Engineer - PV and Energy Storage Responsibilities · Assists dealers and internal teams with the design, installation, commissioning and troubleshooting of PV & PV + storage systems· Provides onsite and/or remote training to internal/external stakeholders on new and existing technologies· Provides training to service staff on how to identify and resolve issues as well as product usage and maintenance Work closely with the operations team to evaluate new technologies Act as the subject matter expert for specified technology(ies)· Attends pilot installs to evaluate technologies and provide technical support onsite · Evaluates installations to ensure they meet company’s quality standards · When delegated by manager, supports O&M in managing and resolving customer concerns and issues in a timely manner and communicate/document progress to customer and relevant Sunnova employees.· Documents control of all pertinent files· Keeps up to date on technical knowledge and participate in educational training of new solar & storage technologies.· Completes quality assurance onsite and/or remote inspections, documenting corrective actions, and ensuring completion of corrective items within reasonable timelines.· Provides support post weather event where damage to grid or customer PV/storage systems occurs· Performs any other duties as assigned· Performs Weekly Reporting Minimum Requirements· A Bachelor’s Degree in related discipline, or equivalent · 3+ years solar experience or equivalent· Ability to travel up to 30% of the time Preferred Qualifications· Working knowledge of Salesforce.com desired· NABCEP certified Additional Knowledge, Skills and Abilities· Strong customer service skills· Excellent judgment in customer relations and managing company resources· Strong written and communication skills to communicate with all levels of management· Detail oriented with the ability to multi-Task· Ability to work under pressure with strict time deadlines· Strong problem-solving skills· Ability to work as a team member and interact with other departments· PC skills; Microsoft Office- Excel, Word, & Outlook Working Conditions· Remote-office environment out of the North East· Estimated travel time: 30% Physical Requirements· Extended periods of time working at computer workstation BenefitsSunnova offers a generous employee reward package that includes:· Comprehensive benefits, including medical, dental, vision, life insurance, healthcare flexible spending account, and 401(k) with employer match.· Competitive compensation & annual bonus· Paid time off, including 10 holidays and Paid Parental Leave· Cell phone allowance for many roles· Free access to onsite fitness center in Houston and/or discounted fitness memberships through health provider· Complimentary garage parking in HoustonWe are an equal
