Mission Focus: As a Software Developer on our Defense Threat Reduction Agency (DTRA) Knowledge Management (KM) Support Team you will be part of a team of developers, data analysts, and system administrators who provide the operation, maintenance, enhancement, and development support for knowledge, data, and analytics management within DTRA.  

This effort is a vital initiative within DTRA designed to develop, deploy, and maintain mission-critical IT solutions that enhance collaboration, data management, process streamlining, and decision-making for DTRA. This contract provides the necessary expertise and experience needed to support the Agency’s growing need for specialized systems, software, security, cloud, and KM solutions. Specific support is needed for the enterprise SharePoint and Business Intelligence Dashboard knowledge sharing systems.  

Clearance: Secret 

Location/Flexibility: Ft. Belvoir, some remote flexibility may be permitted.    

Responsibilities:  

• Perform analysis, design and development of software required to support software applications at DTRA. 
• Review system architecture and implement appropriate development and support tools to ensure product quality and performance.  
• Test, troubleshoot, and debug software to improve and enhance quality of the applications.  
• Apply advanced principles, theories, design patterns, and programming concepts.   
• Collaborate with stakeholders and other team members to identify end-user requirements and produce efficient and quality code addressing the requirements. 
• Contribute to the development of innovative principles and ideas.   
• Work on unusually complex problems and provides solutions that are highly creative.   
• Develop technical documentation and user guides.  

Qualifications:  

• Education & Experience: 
  • Mid: 3 - 5 years of relevant experience and a BS Degree  
• Additional experience may be substituted for education, and additional education may be substituted for years of experience. 
• Certified Knowledge Manager (CKM) certification or obtain it within 60 days.  
• Strong understanding of Software Development LifeCycle (SDLC).
• Familiarity with Agile Development Methodology.
• Proficient in one of the programming languages such as Java, C#, Python, Node.js, etc.
• Experience with SQL Server or other relational databases – creating and modifying stored procedures and data conversion.
• Proficient with debugging code and testing.
• Ability to be a self-starter and work on projects with minimal managerial supervision.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Strong organizational and time-management skills.
• Ability to multitask to be involved in different concurrent projects.
• Familiarity with Azure or AWS Cloud Environments is a plus. 

Physical Requirements:  

• Prolonged periods sitting at a desk and working on a computer  
• Must be able to lift up to 10-15 pounds at time
