About the Program:
The Channel Islands Clinical Laboratory Science certificate program includes both didactic and practical clinical training in the full spectrum of diagnostic tests in hospital laboratories. Students spend four days per week at a clinical site laboratory working in close association with laboratory staff for 52 weeks, and one day per week at the university in didactic instruction during the fall and spring semesters. The didactic component includes general review in the core subject areas including microbiology, hematology, blood bank, molecular diagnostics, and clinical chemistry by CSU Channel Islands faculty and staff. Graduates are awarded a certificate of completion and are eligible to take a certifying examination for CLS licensure in California.

Instructor for Clinical Chemistry component of Spring semester CLS course. Instruction can be in-person (Fridays only), or online. More information available on request.
Minimum Degree Requirements:
B.S. with active CLS certification; M.S., Ph.D/M.D.
