Position Summary
Bechtel is seeking a Senior Architect to join the CSA department within the Manufacturing and Technology Business Unit (M&T). The prime roles and responsibilities include -

Serves as lead or area lead architect on assigned project to develop an area from conceptual phase to EPC phase.

Applies broad and diversified knowledge of Architectural principles and practices to project architecture.

Makes decisions independently concerning problems on the project.

As assigned, represents the Project Engineering Manager on the project and with the client to resolve technical questions and as required to coordinate work.

Supervises and provides technical direction to subordinate architects, engineers, specialists, designers, and drafters as assigned.

Maintains contacts with client representatives as directed, with suppliers, appropriate field personnel, Project Field Engineers, and architectural and engineering disciplines to ensure the coordination of the work within the project or assignment and compliance with Bechtel/client requirements.

Knows applicable industry standards and codes, accepted design practices, and quality standards.
Job Dimensions
A. Supervision Received

Receives operational supervision and technical guidance from a Project Engineering Manager, Supervisor or Chief Engineer.

Accountable to the Architectural Design Manager - Assistant to the Project Engineer for:

Coordination of Engineering and Construction/Procurement activities, in accordance with the established technical quality standards, cost, and schedule.

The performance of select engineering tasks, in accordance with the established technical quality standards, cost, and schedule.

Ensuring that facilities and systems are installed in accordance with the engineering specifications and requirements.

Coordinates with the designer of record and provides field support during construction.

Ensures design documents reflect as-built conditions.

Manages the specification of construction hold points and inspection requirements.

Coordinates resolution of field questions related to field change notices and design change notices.

Ensures Resident Engineering tasks are completed within budget and ensures trends are processed for facility scope changes.

Provides operational direction and technical guidance to subordinate architect, designer and detailer personnel as directed.

Establishes and maintains communication with design and engineering supervisors in charge of related disciplines and with administrative personnel within the group or project.
