The Shift Team Lead is responsible for operating blending/packaging/storage tank equipment related to material handling and movements within the production operations in compliance with applicable regulatory requirements, Standard Operating Procedures, and production schedules.

 

Responsible for operating and monitoring equipment and process to produce quality chemical intermediates and finished products to a pre-determined operations plan. Provides troubleshooting expertise. Identifies equipment/process problems/ improvement opportunities and communicates findings as appropriate. Makes necessary adjustments to react to process changes or to optimize process performance.

 

Operation of process equipment in accordance with Key Performance Measures, Current Good Manufacturing Practices (cGMPs), Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs), safety/regulatory requirements, and divisional goals.

Focus on improving business performance of the Optima Department through increasing employees’ skill sets.

 

Builds capability of Optima personnel and implements best practices to support continuous value generation. Identifies performance gaps and under minimal supervision designs interventions to address those gaps. Ensures training requirements are met and the Optima Team is in compliance.

Responsibilities:

  • Perform Team Lead – Leader Standard Work including facilitating Shift handover and Tier 1 meetings and Gemba walks.
  • Trains Optima employees per SOPs / Job Aids and performs Skill Checks.
  • Coach, Connect, Shape, and Develop the Formulations Teams by influence and leading by example.
  • Provides support to work teams/leaders to implement new practices.
  • Supports the formal assessment of the achievement of learning outcomes.
  • Always displays and promotes positive safety behaviors, uses proper personal equipment, appropriate safety tools, equipment and procedures that ensure self and others go home safe each day; ensures that area and equipment operate at the highest safety levels; ensures that all people in the area (maintenance, quality, visitors, contractors, etc.) comply with safety directives and keep area neat and clean.

You bring:

 

  • High School diploma or equivalent. Process tech degree or equivalent preferred
  • Minimum 10 years of experience in manufacturing environment
  • Ability to work in a team environment, rotating shifts, and coordinate multiple resources without direct supervision.
  • Ability to work outside of scheduled shifts.
  • Ability to perform the physical requirements of duties in the assigned work area.
  • Meticulous recordkeeping housekeeping skills.
  • Ability to operate personal computers.
  • Valid unrestricted driver’s license.
  • Evenings/weekends/holidays/night shifts/day shifts required
  • Ability to safely lift up to 50lbs
  • Combination of sitting, standing, walking, kneeling, crouching and frequent use of stairs
  • Ability to train others.
