Job Description

As a Security Officer - Full-Time Unarmed Patrol in Chicago, IL, you will serve and safeguard clients in a range of industries such as Education, and more. As an unarmed Patrol Officer in an education location, you will conduct routine foot patrols, maintain a visible presence to help reduce security-related incidents, assist staff, students, and visitors with directions and service needs, and communicate concerns clearly. What You'll Do:

• Provide customer service to students, staff, faculty, visitors, and/or vendors by carrying out site-specific security-related procedures, policies, and when appropriate, emergency response activities.
• Conduct regular and random foot patrols throughout galleries, classrooms, offices, common areas, and perimeter grounds to help to deter unwanted activity and identify maintenance and/or environmental concerns.
• Monitor access points and interior spaces as assigned, checking identification and/or visitor credentials, directing guests, and assisting with orderly entry, queuing, and special event traffic.
• Respond to incidents, alarms, and critical situations in a calm, problem-solving manner, coordinating with site contacts and/or public responders as needed.
• Document patrol activity, incidents, and observations in written reports and logs, and communicate relevant updates during shift briefings and handoffs.

Minimum Requirements:

• The client requires proof of a high school diploma or GED.
• Be 21+ years of age.
• Customer service experience is preferred.
• A guard card/license is preferred.
• CPR certification is preferred.
• Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ years of age for armed roles.
• Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
• As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
• Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
• As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
• Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
• A valid driver’s license will be required for driving positions only.
