The Arizona Department of Corrections, Rehabilitation & Reentry (ADCRR) is seeking a Full-Time Administrative Assistant III who completes special projects as requested by the Deputy Warden/associate Deputy Warden/Administrator.
This position also researches and responds to public inquiries, drafts letters for Deputy Warden’s signature, coordinates special events and meetings, and employee recognition at the Arizona State Prison Complex (ASPC) - Perryville.

Job Duties:

-Researches and compiles reports, letters, inquiries, and policy updates
-Manages unit budget to include purchasing and tracking expenditures
-Tracks disciplinary actions and preparation of final outcome documents
-Completes projects as assigned
-Coordinates special event fundraisers
-Conducts the Capital Equipment Inventory
-Supervises subordinates staff
-Drives on State business
-Performs other duties appropriate to the assignment

Knowledge of:
-Arizona Department of Administration (ADOA) Personnel Rules and Arizona Department of Corrections, Rehabilitation and Reentry (ADCRR) policies and procedures
-Grammatical formatting using concise, specific, and grammatically correct non-technical language

-Accounting and budgeting procedures

Selective Preference(s):

-Knowledge of computer programs to include MS Word, Excel, Google suite and Gmail
-Three (3) years responsible administrative reporting to a Manager or Administrative position

Pre-Employment Requirements:

Employment is contingent on the selected applicant passing a background investigation.

If this position requires driving or the use of a vehicle as an essential function of the job, then the following requirements apply. Any employee operating a motor vehicle on State business must possess and retain a current, valid class-appropriate driver’s license, complete all required training, and successfully pass all necessary driver’s license record checks. The license must be current, unexpired, and neither revoked nor suspended. Employees who drive on state business are subject to driver’s license record checks, must maintain acceptable driving records, and must complete all required driver training. An employee who operates a personally owned vehicle on state business shall maintain the statutorily required liability insurance (see Arizona Administrative Code (A.A.C.) R2-10-207.11).

In an effort to maintain a safe environment, all employees are required to take a Tuberculosis (TB) test during their New Employee Orientation and every year thereafter.
