The Chief Nursing Officer (CNO) provides strategic leadership, operational and clinical oversight for all aspects of nursing practice, patient care, and operations. This role requires a dynamic individual with strong leadership skills, clinical expertise, and a commitment to advancing nursing practice, education, and research.
The CNO is responsible for the standards of practice and the standards of professional performance for nursing in the organization. Roles and responsibilities are also in alignment with the organization’s professional practice model including the principles of role-based practice, relationship-based care, recovery model (Resnick) and the components of the Magnet model. The CNO will collaborate with other members of the executive team to develop and implement strategies that promote excellence in patient care, ensure regulatory compliance, and foster a culture of innovation and continuous improvement.

The University of California, Los Angeles is required to provide a reasonable estimate of the compensation range for this role. This range takes into account the wide range of factors that are considered in making compensation decisions including but not limited to experience, skills, knowledge, abilities, education, licensure and certifications, and other business and organizational needs. It is not typical for an individual to be offered a salary at or near the top of the range for a position. Salary offers are determined based on final candidate qualifications and experience. The salary range for this position is min: $201,800 mid: $349,400 max: $497,000. The budgeted salary range that the University reasonably expects to pay for this position is about $275,000-$325,000.
