Job Description

The Technician, Cardiac Diagnostic II reflects the mission, vision, and values of Northwestern Memorial Physicians Group, adheres to the organization’s Code of Ethics and Corporate Compliance Program, and complies with all relevant policies, procedures, guidelines and all other regulatory and accreditation standards.


The Technician, Cardiac Diagnostic II is primarily responsible for providing electrocardiographic testing and monitoring services according to established guidelines. This position is responsible for providing preliminary diagnostic assessments to physicians through accurate reporting of test findings. This role will perform the following procedures: ECGs, standard and signal average; placement of Holter and event monitors. This individual will also provide preliminary analysis of diagnostic procedures, including accurate electrocardiographic rhythm interpretation and scanning Holter/event monitors.

Responsibilities:

  • Perform diagnostic electrocardiographic procedures: standard ECG; signal averaged ECG; Holter monitor/Event monitor; stress testing; and transelophonic ECG and pacemaker recordings.
  • Provide preliminary analysis of diagnostic procedures – provide accurate electrocardiographic rhythm interpretation; provide test findings in a timely fashion.
  • Administrative Tasks: submit reports to and retrieve for ordering physicians; prepare vouchers by selecting appropriate procedural and diagnostic codes for accurate and timely billing; maintain electrocardiographic equipment; order and stock supplies; and interact with vendors for maintenance and servicing of equipment.

Qualifications

Required:

  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent relevant experience required.
  • CCT Certification is required.
  • Minimum of one (1) years’ experience in a relevant role.
  • Advanced arrhythmia recognition skills are also required.
