Job Description Summary

Small Engines for Collaborative Combat Aircraft Senior Product/Program Manager to lead cross functional team execution to deliver on Small Engine product development and program management. Incumbent will contribute to strategic business growth objectives, lead proposal preparation, and manage and execute programs to meet program objectives on cost and on schedule. Will construct and execute action plans to coordinate activities of support organizations to deliver business commitments including those of partner companies.

Job Description

Roles and Responsibilities

  • Builds strong relationships of trust with airframer and government customer base through transparent communication, delivery on promises, and responsiveness to requests.
  • Oversees company funded activities including financial metrics associated with IRAD and Cost-shared programs.
  • Ensures execution on customer funded contracts and deliverables, meeting cost, schedule and program deliverables on time. Responsible for overall program management of assigned contracts.
  • Requires strong military awareness and Weapons System Contractor experience and is expected to influence the development of product strategy for customer and market needs.
  • Creates and shapes opportunities for external funded Collaborative Combat Aircraft propulsion programs, integration and qualification of Edison Works strategic small engine propulsion needs including inclusion of Integrated Power & Propulsion IPPS opprutnities. Will also lead the proposal activity and sales ops/deal review preparation thru Capture Process and Gate Reviews.
  • Supports external engagement and influence plan with military services and WSC/airframers
  • Support Hoshin Kanri and lead action plans to develop low cost, small engine strategy, technology and customer engagement. Utilize FLIGHT DECK to drive daily management.
  • Identify and champion improvements in how we operate productively including Implementing standard work through lean principles and use of FLIGHT DECK.
  • Interprets internal and external business challenges and recommends best practices to improve products, processes and services. Stays informed of industry trends that may inform work.
  • Uses high level of judgment to make decisions and handle complex tasks or problems within projects, product lines, markets, sales processes, campaigns or customers. Has ability to assess quality of information given and ask pertinent questions to stakeholders or customers. Able to offer new solutions to problems outside of set parameters and is able to construct and provide recommendations. Uses multiple internal and some external sources outside of own function to help arrive at a decision.
  • Works effectively in a matrixed organization with engineering, finance, marketing, PMO, and business development.
  • Will lead functional teams or projects with minimal resource requirements, risk, and/or complexity. Communicates difficult concepts and may influence others' options on particular topics. Will guide others to consider a different point of view.

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in engineering from an accredited university or college (or a high school diploma / GED with a minimum of 4 years of product or program management experience )
  • Additional 5 years of product or program management experience  
  • Must be US Citizen
  • Must be able to obtain and maintain a DoD Secret clearance

Desired Characteristics

  • Current DoD Secret (or greater) Clearance
  • Experience with military propulsion products and systems, and/or missiles and UAV market.
  • Proficient in FLIGHT DECK utilization.
